Red mullet (MULLUS SURMULETUS)

Red mullet  is a member of the Mullidae family. Its length reaches 35 cm. It has a reddish color, deeper on the back, silver-gold on the belly, and it is covered by many small oval scales.

It lives in many seas of the temperate regions, mainly in seaweed complexes or sandy - silty bottoms, where it searches for food.

Its light taste and delicate meat does not resemble that of any other fish, except maybe of the Red mullet.
